In a Garden Green

'In a Garden Green'—Sol Invictus

"Nature is a stormtrooper in a camouflage smock. "
—Ian Hamilton Finley
The new studio album from Sol Invictus takes a moonlit stroll through Europa's garden green. This release includes both the folk and neo-classical touches one expects from Sol but also has ambient touches alongside the more muscular feel that made The Blade so popular. More personal in feel, In a Garden Green reflects the elements of mourning and renewal occurring while the album was being recorded.

The usual suspects of Howden, Doherty, Roger, and Blake join Wakeford, and both English folklore and text from Hildegard von Bingen stand alongside Wakeford's usual happy-go-lucky lyrics. A darkly elegant foray into the horticulture of Hel.
